Weekend Recruiter information

What is a weekend recruiter?

A Weekend Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring candidates during weekends to support companies with continuous hiring needs. They may work remotely or on-site, leveraging job boards, social media, and networking to find qualified candidates. This role is common in industries with high turnover, urgent hiring demands, or flexible scheduling needs. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a weekend recruiter?

To thrive as a Weekend Recruiter, you need a solid understanding of talent acquisition principles, experience with sourcing and screening candidates, and strong organizational abilities, often supported by a degree in human resources or related fields. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruitment platforms, and digital interviewing tools is typically required. Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work independently are key soft skills for this role. These skills enable efficient candidate engagement and ensure effective recruiting processes during non-traditional work hours.

What are some common challenges faced by weekend recruiters, and how can they overcome them?

Weekend Recruiters often encounter challenges such as reaching candidates and hiring managers who may have limited weekend availability, staying responsive in a fast-paced environment, and maintaining work-life balance due to unconventional hours. Overcoming these challenges involves proactive scheduling, leveraging communication tools to stay connected, and setting clear expectations with both candidates and clients about response times. Many employers appreciate Weekend Recruiters who can adapt and prioritize tasks efficiently while using digital platforms to streamline communications and documentation. Being resourceful and organized helps ensure consistent recruiting results and a positive experience for both candidates and employers.

Do weekend recruiters work on the weekend?

Weekend recruiters often work on weekends to meet hiring needs outside regular business hours. Their schedules can vary depending on the company and industry, but many are available during weekends to coordinate interviews and candidate outreach.

Job description

Recruiter
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000 annually
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. Raymond Storage Concepts is unable to provide employment visa sponsorship for this position now or in the future.
Build Relationships. Find Great People. Make an Impact.
Raymond Storage Concepts is looking for a Recruiter to join our People Operations team in Cincinnati!
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and connecting great people with the right opportunities. You'll manage full-cycle recruiting across a variety of positions throughout the organization while partnering closely with hiring managers and business leaders to understand their teams, challenges, and talent needs.
You won't be recruiting for just one type of position. Our Recruiter supports hiring across skilled trades, operations, sales, corporate, administrative, and leadership roles, giving you the opportunity to learn different areas of the business and continue developing your career in Talent Acquisition.
If you're curious, organized, relationship-driven, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two searches are exactly the same, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting across multiple business functions and levels throughout the organization.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand business needs, workforce planning, and hiring priorities.
  • Build trusted relationships with hiring managers by providing recruiting guidance, labor market insights, and regular updates throughout the hiring process.
  • Coach hiring managers on interviewing practices, candidate evaluation, and recruiting best practices.
  • Develop creative sourcing strategies using LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, employee referrals, networking, professional organizations, social media, and other recruiting resources.
  • Build and maintain proactive talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
  • Conduct resume reviews, phone screens, interviews, assessments, and candidate evaluations.
  • Coordinate interviews and other hiring activities.
  • Extend employment offers and guide candidates through pre-employment activities.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding.

Workforce Development & Community Partnerships
  • Build relationships with colleges, universities, trade schools, professional organizations, military transition programs, workforce development organizations, and community partners.
  • Represent Raymond Storage Concepts at job fairs, hiring events, school visits, and community outreach activities.
  • Develop long-term partnerships that strengthen our talent pipelines.
  • Promote career opportunities and the RSC employment brand throughout the communities we serve.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with People Operations and business leaders to identify trends related to turnover and retention and support retention initiatives.
  • Help continuously improve recruiting processes, interview tools, Talent Acquisition practices, and the overall candidate experience.
  • Support onboarding initiatives and first-day activities to help create a positive experience for new hires.
  • Use recruiting metrics and market insights to identify opportunities and improve hiring outcomes.

What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means more than filling open positions. You'll help us:
  • Build proactive talent pipelines.
  • Reduce time-to-fill.
  • Increase offer acceptance.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Build strong, trusted partnerships with hiring managers.
  • Strengthen the RSC employer brand.
  • Support successful onboarding and first-year retention.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Customer Service, Sales, Account Management, or another relationship-focused role.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, compliant interviewing practices, and equal employment opportunity (EEO) principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at multiple levels of an organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Comfort learning and using HR technology, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and other recruiting tools.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to occasionally travel to our branch locations in Columbus, OH and Louisville, KY.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience managing full-cycle recruiting across multiple job functions or organizational levels.
  • Experience partnering directly with hiring managers and business leaders.
  • Experience coaching or advising hiring managers on interviewing and candidate selection.
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System; ADP experience is a plus.
  • Experience sourcing candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, or other recruiting platforms.
  • Experience within manufacturing, distribution, industrial services, or a B2B organization.
  • Experience in a customer-facing or relationship-focused environment.
  • Interest in building a long-term career in Talent Acquisition.
