This is a Full Time, Day Shift Position

(Three 12-hour shifts, Every third weekend rotation)

Registered Nurse (RN) - General Medical/Surgical Unit (4B): All private rooms with mostly middle to older adult population. Nurses care for all types of medical patients, including post-surgical patients. A wide range of opportunities include central lines, IV's, PCAs, medication administration, wound care with dressing changes, care of dialysis patients, chest tubes, NG, variety of drainage tubes, Ostomy/ileostomy care, complex comorbidity, patient education.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

- Current RN license in the State of Illinois required.- Healthcare Provider or Instructor BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.- ACLS Provider or Instructor certification required within one year of hire date.

Education Requirements:

- BSN preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Performs age appropriate assessments.
  • Analyzes data to identify nursing problems.
  • Provides direct patient care, develops individualized plan of care in partnership with patients & families. Evaluates patient progress toward attainment of goals, revising plan of care when indicated.
  • Delegates patient care tasks to LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel based on job description and patient needs.
  • Appropriately supervises performance of LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel.
  • Builds teamwork when supervising and delegating to others.
  • Documents patient care according to policies and procedures.
  • Ensures appropriate implementation of physician's orders
