Experience:

โ€ข 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

โ€ข 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

โ€ข Travel experience is required.

โ€ข Experience with Epic is preferred.

โ€ข Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

โ€ข Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

โ€ข This role may require floating to additional units and locations

โ€ข Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

โ€ข 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Additional Details:

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job youโ€™re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: - Prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit. - Heparin gtt experience.

Unit Details: - Common diagnoses/patient population: stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, neuroscience, and some medical overflow. - RNs titrate heparin drips based on PTT. - House-wide telemetry; nurses do not read their own strips. Uses Phillips monitors. - High-flow for stable COVID only; RNs troubleshoot only. - Patient care tech support ratios: days 1:9-10, evenings 1:9-10, nights 1:10-12. - Charge nurse and house supervisor are available 24/7; the charge nurse takes an assignment only when the unit is short and nurses would otherwise be above ratio.

Special Requests: - Tries to meet scheduling requests and will block if it is possible with staffing.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekend on both shifts. - Every other holiday. - No call.

Floating Requirements: - Float in rotation with the rest of staff. General unit travelers float to general unit floors and take a full team. If floated outside of a general unit in urgent need, they would only perform skills they are competent to do and be assigned with a nurse trained for that particular unit.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months

Driverโ€™s license required for submission
