Locums - Bellingham, Washington, Gastroenterology Opening (IMLC Welcome)

Start Date: 8/10/26Expected Duration: 6 monthsReason for Opening: Gap in coverage

Coverage & Setting:

  • Type of privileges: Clinic and Hospital (Both)
  • Practice Setting: Inpatient / Outpatient
  • Inpatient Bed Size: 253 beds
  • Provider will not work solo; additional GI physicians are in the practice

Schedule & Call Requirements:

  • 24-hour call requirement
  • Weekday and weekend hospitalist-style coverage
  • Includes rounding, consults, admissions, and inpatient/outpatient GI procedures
  • Clinic and procedural workload included

Patient Volume & Demographics:

  • Adult patients (18+)
  • Clinic: ~16 patients/day
  • Outpatient Endoscopy Center: ~14–16 patients/day
  • Hospital census: varies

Procedures Required:

  • Full Gastroenterology procedural coverage
  • ERCP required
  • Must provide documentation of ERCP procedural experience within past 24 months (unless recent graduate)
  • Maintenance requirement: minimum 50 ERCPs in past 2 years, or proctoring required if not met

Support & Systems:

  • EMR: EPIC preferred
  • Provation GI software preferred
  • Collaborative GI group model

Requirements:

  • Board Certified Gastroenterology – Required
  • Active Washington license – Required
  • IMLC accepted
  • ACLS – Required (AHA or ARC)
