BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking an SAP BRIM -Data Migration Architect to work in the Middletown, PA area. This is a full time position with at least 2 days on-site and
possibly 3 days remote.
As an SAP BRIM-Data Migration Architect, you will lead the end-to-end strategy, design, and execution of data migration for SAP Billing and Revenue Innovation Management (BRIM) and SAP S/4HANA. This role defines the migration approach for extreme-volume subscription, usage, billing, invoicing, and payments data; oversees source-to-target mapping, delta-load cutovers, and reconciliation; and ensures performance, security, and compliance (PCI DSS, SOC1/SOC2). The architect collaborates with business SMEs, functional consultants, integration teams, and testers to deliver repeatable, auditable migration waves with minimal downtime and business disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Migration Strategy & Planning
  • Define the migration blueprint (waves, mock runs, dress rehearsals, cutover plan) for SAP BRIM (SOM, CI, CC) and related S/4HANA components.
  • Select migration patterns (initial load, delta load, real-time catch-up) and rollback strategies to meet SLA and operational continuity.
  • Establish reconciliation and sign-off criteria with business owners for each migration wave.
  • Data Modeling, Mapping & Transformation
  • Lead source-to-target mapping for subscriptions, contracts, usage events, invoices, payments, and disputes across SAP/non-SAP systems.
  • Define transformation logic, data quality rules, and survivorship policies; maintain canonical models to minimize replication.
  • Create detailed mapping specs, lookup tables, and crosswalks for legacy codes, customer identifiers, and product catalogs.
  • Integration & Pipeline Architecture
  • Architect scalable pipelines using SAP PO/CPI, BTP CAP, APIs, and secure file/streaming transports to move high-volume data.
  • Design performant staging and load processes (parallelization, partitioning, bulk APIs, OData/CDS extractions, ABAP loaders).
  • Coordinate with mediation systems for usage capture and rating alignment to ensure downstream CI/CC integrity.
  • Cutover Execution & Reconciliation
  • Orchestrate mock loads, trial reconciliations, and dress rehearsals; optimize runtime and window constraints.
  • Implement automated reconciliation (counts, sums, sampling), dispute continuity for migrated transactions, and variance handling.
  • Provide hyper care runbooks and defect triage procedures for post-cutover stabilization.
  • Security, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure migration pipelines and landing zones meet PCI DSS and SOC1/SOC2 controls (tokenization, encryption, RBAC, secrets management).
  • Document control evidence; partner with InfoSec to validate data handling and retention policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and contingency planning; track mitigations to closure.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance
  • Define test data strategy; support SIT/UAT for functional and performance validation of migrated data.
  • Review test scripts and results; lead defect root-cause analysis and remediation across source, transform, and load stages.
  • Documentation & Governance
  • Produce architecture diagrams, migration playbooks, runbooks, impact analyses, and sign-off artifacts using Commission templates.
  • Manage features, user stories, and tasks in Azure DevOps (ADO)/JIRA; maintain traceability from requirement to load to reconciliation.
  • Collaboration & Enablement
  • Lead workshops with business stakeholders and SMEs; align migration scope and acceptance criteria.
  • Mentor developers and data engineers on BRIM migration practices; contribute lessons learned and best-practice catalogs.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years in enterprise data migration/data engineering; 3+ years leading migrations for SAP S/4HANA/BRIM.
  • 2+ full-cycle SAP BRIM implementations with hands-on experience in SOM and CI (exposure to CC preferred).
  • Proven delivery of extreme high-volume loads and delta cutovers with minimal downtime.

Skills:
  • Expertise in SAP BRIM data structures and process flows (subscription, rating, invoicing, payments, disputes).
  • Strong command of SAP BTP, CPI/PO, CAP, OData/CDS, ABAP extraction/load techniques, and API design.
  • Performance tuning, parallelization, and observability (logging, tracing, metrics, SLIs/SLOs).
  • Secure data handling (encryption, tokenization), data quality, reconciliation, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership.

Preferred Skills:
  • SAP BRIM certifications (e.g., BR235/240/245/416).
  • Experience in utilities or transportation with usage-based subscription/billing models.
  • Hybrid Agile delivery; strong CI/CD and backlog governance in ADO/JIRA.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow for post go-live incident/problem management.
