NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of curriculum committee member for the following committee, to serve as needed from September 2026 to June 2027.

ENGLISH AS A NEW LANGUAGE (ENL)
GRADES 6-8

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a New York State teacher certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a probationary or tenured teacher and have knowledge of the Next Generation Learning Standards, Commissioner Regulations Part 154 (CR-Part 154) Units of Studies and the Blueprint for English Language Learner/Multilingual Learner (ELL/MLL) Success. In addition, the candidate must have taught in the grade band associated with the posting. Preference will be given to previous committee members.
DUTIES:
Curriculum committees will collaborate directly with the Division of Multilingual Education and/or curriculum administrators. The committees are required to complete various assignments within a specific time frame. These assignments include, but are not limited to, developing frameworks and relevant content for English Language Learners during both standalone and integrated periods. Committee members will take part in professional development activities to enhance their knowledge and skills needed to fulfill their responsibilities related to committee work.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials, and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
SALARY: Committee members will be paid at the contractual rate.
