Outside Sales Representative / Construction Estimator


Company: Sidex Construction

Location: Remote / Field-Based

Service Area: Within approximately 200 miles of Sacramento, primarily the San Francisco Bay Area and South Lake Tahoe

Compensation: 7.5%–13% commission


Sidex Construction is seeking a motivated and professional Outside Sales Representative / Construction Estimator to meet with prospective customers, evaluate construction projects, prepare estimates, and close sales.


This is a remote, commission-based position; however, frequent driving is required. Most customer consultations are located throughout the Bay Area and South Lake Tahoe. Candidates must be comfortable traveling within an approximately 200-mile radius of Sacramento.


Responsibilities


  • Travel to scheduled residential and commercial consultations
  • Meet with property owners and discuss their project goals, budget, and expectations
  • Inspect job sites, take measurements, photographs, and detailed project notes
  • Identify the proposed scope of work and explain appropriate construction solutions
  • Prepare accurate estimates and professional proposals
  • Present pricing, answer customer questions, and confidently close contracts
  • Follow up consistently with prospective customers
  • Maintain accurate lead, appointment, estimate, and sales records
  • Coordinate with Sidex Construction’s office and production teams after a project is sold
  • Set clear expectations regarding scope, exclusions, timelines, and payment schedules
  • Represent Sidex Construction professionally at every appointment


Qualifications


  • Previous construction sales, estimating, remodeling, or home-improvement experience is preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills
  • Ability to read project conditions and develop a clear scope of work
  • Comfortable discussing pricing, overcoming objections, and asking for the sale
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing a remote schedule
  • Comfortable using email, text messaging, estimating software, and CRM systems
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current automobile insurance
  • Must be willing to drive throughout Northern California, including the Bay Area and South Lake Tahoe
  • Professional appearance and dependable attendance are required
  • Evening or weekend availability may occasionally be necessary to accommodate customers


Compensation


  • Commission ranges from 7.5% to 13%
  • Commission rate is determined by experience, performance, project type, and company compensation structure
  • Strong earning potential for a motivated salesperson who can consistently follow up and close qualified opportunities
  • Travel expectations and any applicable mileage or expense arrangements will be discussed during the interview process
