Construction Project Manager โ€“ HVAC/Mechanical

Position Summary

BGI is seeking a Construction Project Manager with an active South Carolina HVAC license to support DOE and federal client projects in the Savannah River Area, SC. This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of HVAC and mechanical construction projects, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all DOE, OSHA, and SC regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate brings deep field expertise in mechanical systems and construction oversight, with experience working in highly regulated nuclear or government environments. This position directly supports BGIโ€™s mission of delivering world-class construction management and EH&S services to our government clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage HVAC and mechanical construction projects from planning and procurement through execution and closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with DOE, OSHA, and South Carolina regulatory requirements throughout all project phases.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, engineers, and government client interfaces to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Maintain project budgets, schedules, and quality control plans; report status to BGI leadership and clients regularly.
  • Conduct field oversight and safety inspections at the Savannah River Site or similar regulated government facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 7+ years of construction project management experience, with a focus on HVAC and mechanical systems
  • Active South Carolina HVAC or Mechanical Contractor license (required); familiarity with DOE, OSHA, FAR, and EH&S compliance standards.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work through problems quickly and effectively and define a clear path to resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior work at the Savannah River Site or other DOE/nuclear facilities strongly preferred; active or eligible DOE security clearance (L or Q level) is a significant plus; PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred

Proficiency with project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6; experience with federal contracting environments and government client management
