Position Summary:

The University of Memphis is seeking a forward-thinking Website Marketing Director to lead the university's front-end enterprise web ecosystem. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, storytelling and technology and is responsible for ensuring that every online touchpoint advances the university's mission and delivers measurable impact.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Marketing and Communications, this leader will drive a cohesive, data-informed digital brand presence, and will support brand and enrollment goals while enhancing the user experience across all audiences.

The University of Memphis is a leading, student-centered, urban public R1 research institution. Located in Memphis, Tennessee, on 1,160 acres. The University serves a population of nearly 20,000 students and 2,500 employees, including more than 1,000 full-time faculty members. The University offers bachelor's degrees in more than 230 areas of study, master's degrees in more than 50 subjects and doctoral degrees in 26 disciplines; supported an institutional record of more than $100 million in research awards for FY24; and has an operating budget of close to $500 million.
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • 7+ years of experience in digital strategy, web management, web development or another related field
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise web strategy and large-scale digital initiatives
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI, SEO/GEO, analytics and digital channels
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and partners

    • Elevate storytelling through video, interactive content and emerging digital formats
  • Data, Analytics and Optimization:
    • Establish a robust analytics framework to measure performance across web and digital channels
    • Translate data into actionable insights to improve user experience and campaign effectiveness
    • Build dashboards and reporting to communicate the impact to leadership and campus partners
    • Champion a culture of testing, learning and continuous improvement
    • Maintain the integrity and health of a multi-contributor website by performing regular audits for link functionality, content accuracy, and overall site performance.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Serve as a key strategic partner within Marketing and Communications and across the university
    • Lead and mentor digital/web team members and external agency partners
    • Build strong relationships with campus stakeholders to ensure alignment and adoption of digital best practices
    • Stay ahead of industry trends in digital marketing, higher education and emerging technologies
