Job description

Summary: The Production & Packaging Supervisor will oversee warehouse inventory and staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Monitors inventory levels at the outside warehouses to ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained.
  • Ensures blends are prepared on timely basis to meet customer needs
  • Assists in establishing operational procedures for warehouse and inventory activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing product, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Assists in the responsibility for the physical condition and sanitation of a food warehouse and warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to use JDE system effectively to control, adjust, consume, and move inventory.
  • Consistent with corporate policies, supervises and coordinates Grinding and Blending production operations.
  • Organizes procedures and operates to accomplish objectives in accordance with production schedule. Optimizes the use of available manpower, skills, and techniques to expedite workload in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
  • Assists in developing, supporting and maintaining an effective relationship with the QA dept
  • Adheres to all departmental and company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains time and production records, and coordinates cycle counts and physical inventory programs.
  • Works with operators to implement and sustain 5S principles in the Grinding and Blending area.
  • Follows all food safety procedures and practices to promote our food safety culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directs the supervision of approximately 12 production employees.
  • Coordinates schedule with Operations Coordinator.
  • Responsible for training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Assists Warehouse Manager with interviewing and hiring opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • 2+ years of warehousing or manufacturing/production experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
  • Food manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge and use of inventory management software and other organizational computer applications.

Physical Demands: Frequently required to sit, talk and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: Occasionally exposed to cold, heat, wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
