THE OPPORTUNITY
We're seeking organized, dependable, and hands-on Warehouse Managers to oversee daily operations at two construction warehouse locations: Stamford, CT and Columbus, OH. This is an opportunity to own warehouse operations that directly support high-profile hospitality renovation projects, manage teams, and grow with a fast-moving, entrepreneurial construction company.
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an organized, dependable, and hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our construction warehouse and ensure it remains clean, organized, safe, and efficient. This position will oversee inventory, material receiving and distribution, tools and equipment, deliveries, warehouse personnel, and general warehouse organization.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who takes ownership of the warehouse, maintains accurate inventory, communicates effectively with project teams, and understands the importance of getting the right materials, tools, and equipment to the job site when needed.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Operations
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and ensure it remains clean, organized, safe, and efficient.
• Receive, inspect, organize, and distribute construction materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and tracked.
• Coordinate the movement of materials and equipment between the warehouse, job sites, vendors, and other company locations.
• Monitor inventory levels and identify materials that need to be reordered.
• Maintain an organized system for storing and retrieving materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure materials are available and prepared for upcoming construction activities.
• Assist project teams with locating and obtaining required materials and equipment.
• Coordinate loading and unloading of trucks and deliveries.
Inventory & Asset Management
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and conduct regular physical inventory audits.
• Track tools, equipment, and company assets assigned to employees and job sites.
• Maintain records of material usage, transfers, returns, damaged materials, and shortages.
• Identify missing, damaged, obsolete, or excess inventory and communicate issues to management.
• Develop and maintain an organized inventory-control system.
• Ensure materials are stored appropriately to prevent damage, loss, or deterioration.
• Assist with purchasing and replenishment of commonly used materials and supplies.
Construction Support
• Work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and field teams to understand upcoming material and equipment needs.
• Coordinate material deliveries to job sites based on project schedules.
• Prepare materials and equipment for shipment or delivery to active construction projects.
• Track materials moving between the warehouse and job sites.
• Help ensure project teams receive the correct materials, tools, and equipment in a timely manner.
• Communicate potential shortages or delivery issues before they affect project schedules.
• Assist with returns, warranty items, damaged materials, and surplus materials from completed projects.
Team Leadership
• Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff, drivers, and other personnel assigned to warehouse operations.
• Assign daily tasks and establish priorities based on project and company needs.
• Hold team accountable for organization, productivity, accuracy, and safety of the warehouse.
• Promote a professional and team-oriented warehouse environment.
Safety & Compliance
• Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of materials, tools, equipment, and other supplies.
• Follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Monitor warehouse conditions and address potential safety hazards promptly.
• Maintain clear aisles, organized storage areas, and appropriate access to emergency equipment.
Administrative Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate receiving, inventory, transfer, and shipping records.
• Track purchase orders, delivery tickets, packing slips, and other warehouse documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors regarding deliveries, shortages, damaged materials, and returns.
• Use inventory-management, construction-management, or other software systems to maintain accurate records.
• Provide regular inventory and warehouse-status updates to management.
• Assist with developing procedures to improve warehouse efficiency and reduce waste.
REQUIREMENTS
• 3+ years of warehouse, logistics, inventory, or construction-related experience preferred
• Previous experience managing or supervising warehouse operations strongly preferred
• Construction industry experience is a significant plus
• Strong understanding of inventory control and material-handling procedures
• Experience managing tools, equipment, building materials, or construction supplies preferred
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple requests from field and project teams
• Comfortable working in a hands-on warehouse environment
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory or construction-management software
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required)
• Ability to safely lift, move, and organize construction materials and equipment as required
• Ability to work indoors in warehouse environment in varying weather conditions
