Job description

Overview
Portmeirion Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our homeware distribution center in Waterbury, CT. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of warehouse operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of orders across wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in consumer packaged goods distribution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all daily operations of the distribution center, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control
  • Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders, meeting service level expectations
  • Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee workflow planning, labor scheduling, and productivity optimization
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and coordinate cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Utilize and optimize WMS systems to support efficient operations and reporting
  • Collaborate with customer service, sales, and transportation partners to resolve order issues and improve delivery performance
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and operational best practices
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse or distribution center operations, preferably in consumer packaged goods
  • Proven experience managing direct-to-consumer fulfillment operations
  • Strong working knowledge of WMS systems
  • Experience supporting Amazon fulfillment (Seller Central, FBA/FBM, compliance requirements) a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on, in-office environment
  • Availability to manage the 2nd shift from mid-November through end of year
  • Must be able to work occasional Saturday during peak seasons
