Job description

Theย Warehouse Inventory Clerk/Driver is responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of inventory within the warehouse, as well as the safe and timely delivery of products to customers. Theย Warehouse Inventory Clerk/Driver is a member of the Buildings and Grounds team and has the opportunity to work independently and collaborate with other district departments as needed. The position reports to theย  Director of Buildings and Grounds.

The Warehouse Inventory Clerk/Driver will be responsible for the following:ย 

Warehouse Operations:

  • Tracking and recording inventory. Using systems (manual or software) to monitor the movement of items, from incoming to outgoing shipments
  • Organizing and maintaining a clean and efficient warehouse space
  • Managing shipping and receivingย by unpacking deliveries, inspecting and ensuring the accuracy and quality of orders, verifying orders, and preparing items for shipmentย 
  • Performing routine inventory counts and assisting with stock management
  • Operating warehouse equipment safely, such as forklifts and/or pallet jacks (the District will provide training as needed)
  • Assisting warehouse personnel in maintaining warehouse operations

Delivery and Customer Service:ย 

  • Planning and executing daily delivery routes in a timely and efficient manner
  • Deliveringย  a variety of items (e.g. mail sacks, boxes, packages, cargo, office supplies, furniture, equipment, etc.) for distribution to assigned locationsย 
  • Safely loading, securing, and unloading a variety of items, supplies and/or equipment for the purpose of providing requested items at designated sitesย ย 
  • Delivering products to customers, obtaining signatures and providing excellent customer service
  • Maintaining tools, equipment and assigned vehicle(s) (e.g. cleaning, fluid levels, fueling, tire pressure, etc.) to ensure they are in safe operating condition
  • Responding to staff and vendor inquiries regarding delivery statusย 
  • Communicating proactively with customers and management regarding delivery status or issues
  • Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting maintenance needs as appropriate

Additional Buildings and Grounds Duties:

  • Assisting with site snow removal to ensure access and safety
  • Attending department meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. to obtainย  information required to perform essential job functions
  • Cleaning assigned facilities and/or grounds (e.g. offices, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, etc.) in order to maintain a clean, safe and attractive environment
  • Performing a variety of minor repairs and maintenance activities (e.g. faucet washers, loose screws, air filters, lightbulbs, etc.) in order to maintain a safe and functional work environmentย 
  • Responding to and reporting immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g. facility damage, vandalism, alarms, etc.) to appropriate personnel for resolution
  • Performing other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit

In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Warehouse Inventory Clerk/Driver must possess the following qualifications:ย 

  • Forkliftย Certificate
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 80 lbs) and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to use email and spreadsheets
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education Required:ย 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalentย 
  • Job related experience is desired
  • Must be willing to rotate shifts

Experience Required:ย 

  • Minimum of (2) years of shipping and receiving, inventory tracking and driving/operating a Clark fork liftย 
  • Demonstrated relevant experience is preferred
