Position Summary
The Inventory Specialist plays a key role in preparing laboratory and industrial equipment for resale by accurately documenting, photographing, and cataloging products in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality product listings that accurately represent each piece of equipment.
Successful candidates take pride in producing consistent, accurate work while maintaining productivity in a dynamic setting. In addition to photographing equipment and creating detailed product documentation, this position includes training new employees and helping develop standardized operating procedures. This position works closely with warehouse leadership to improve efficiency, maintain quality standards, and support daily inventory operations.
Strong computer skills are essential, as this position requires the daily use of multiple software systems to create accurate product listings, manage inventory data, and maintain quality documentation.
Responsibilities
- Photograph laboratory and industrial equipment for online resale listings.
- Utilize multiple computer systems to accurately document, photograph, and manage inventory records.
- Create detailed and accurate product documentation, including equipment descriptions and specifications.
- Ensure listings meet company quality standards through careful inspection and attention to detail.
- Organize and process inventory efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic functional testing or minor repairs on equipment when appropriate.
- Provide support and guidance to Inventory Specialists and other team members.
- Train new employees on inventory processes and best practices.
- Assist in developing and improving standardized operating procedures.
- Collaborate with warehouse leadership to improve workflow, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will possess:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in warehouse, inventory, manufacturing, laboratory equipment, or technical service environments is preferred.
- Ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly.
- A continuous improvement mindset with strong attention to detail.
