Job description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: As assigned: All functions and procedures related to Inventory, Receiving, Drivers Room, Damage Room, Will Call, Put-away and Replenishment or any dept. in Operations within the organization based on Company needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Additional duties, which are necessary to carry out the functions of the Inventory Utility Clerk, may be assigned as needed by volume or covering absence in any area and are incorporated by reference into this job description.

  • Responsible for accurate accounting all inventory as it relates to Inventory Control;
  • Responsible proper processing of Damage Room and Drivers Room functions as needed when temporarily assigned to Drivers Room;
  • Responsible for using radio frequency terminal to record receiving, put-away and replenishment operations into the computer system;
  • Responsible for accurate receipt and placement of all products and for reporting errors or differences to the proper party while working in Receiving Department;
  • Responsible for any function assigned to Will Call as needed for special projects, to include: NADC order, sub jobber and selecting and processing orders for hot shot load;
  • Reports to work on time, as directed by the Inventory Supervisor, and completes all duties in a timely manner;
  • Performs above listed duties in a cooperative, capable manner, processing the information effectively and communicating the information as needed effectively;
  • Responsible for communicating problems, errors, and safety issues to Supervisor;
  • Responsible for working in environments with controlled temperatures as low as 0 – 36 degrees; Company policy requires the appropriate clothing and/or apparel while working in such temperatures; this apparel will be provided by the Company;
  • All personnel within this job description will be cross-trained into jobs within the organization based on Company needs;

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands of this job include moderate physical activity performing light strenuous activities of an administrative, productive and/or technical nature that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is required to talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands or arms and lift product from a floor position to a rack in excess of 5 feet tall where a stool or small ladder may be required. The employee must regularly lift up to 15-20 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of Inventory Utility Clerk, the employee must regularly work in hot, cold, wet and/or humid conditions encountered in warehouse environments as well as in outdoor weather conditions; specifically, freezer and cooler environments with controlled temperatures ranging from zero to thirty-six degrees. Also, the employee must occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate.
