Job Summary:

As an Inventory Control Associate, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring seamless supply chain operations. This position is responsible for inventory accuracy through cycle counting, inventory audits, product verification, and transaction processing within the warehouse management system. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in inventory management software are key to success in this role.


This position is typically scheduled on first shift, Monday through Friday. However, business needs, peak seasonal demands, and operational requirements may necessitate overtime. Overtime may include extended hours beyond the regular workday, as well as work on Saturdays, Sundays, and other non-standard hours as needed.


What youโ€™ll do (including, but not limited to):?

  • Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against documents, and inspect for damages or discrepancies.
  • Accurately record inventory transactions in databases or inventory management systems.
  • Conduct routine cycle counts, location audits, and physical inventory activities to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed to access inventory, perform cycle counts, verify product locations, and support inventory control activities.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure product integrity and compliance with standards.
  • Generate inventory reports, including stock levels, discrepancies, and trends, to facilitate decision-making and planning.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including stock shortages, overages, misplaced inventory, and transaction errors, in a timely manner.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in inventory management procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to inventory control policies, procedures, and regulations, including Food Safety and USDA regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while complying with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as needed/required.

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, reach, bend, twist, kneel and use hands to handle various products.
  • Consistently lift, move, push, pull and carry upwards of 40 lbs. depending on product and business operations.

  • Work around, on or near a variety of equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, warehouse racking systems, electronic devices and refrigeration systems.

  • Inclement weather subject to loading and receiving dock configuration.
  • Interior temperatures between 70 to -15 degrees Fahrenheit (21 to -26 degrees Celsius)
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Prior experience in inventory control, cycle counting, warehouse operations, or related roles required.
  • Experience working in a cold storage facility, specifically a freezer environment, highly preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking and data entry.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items, work at varying heights, and stand, bend, and reach for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive work culture.
