Inventory Control Specialist - Dallas, TX

Position Summary

The Inventory Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting warehouse operations, and ensuring product integrity through cycle counts, audits, and discrepancy resolution.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays as needed.

Competitive Pay: $20/hour -$22/hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain accurate inventory records in COSMOS WMS, ensuring system integrity between physical inventory and system data

Perform daily cycle counts, slot discrepancy audits, and recounts to validate inventory accuracy across all storage locations

Execute and manage reports including Slot Discrepancy, Zero Locations, and Incoming PO reports to identify and correct variances

Reconcile inventory between PPML, RC, and physical stock, ensuring proper label control and preventing duplicate or ghost inventory

Coordinate with Shipping, Receiving, and Selection teams to validate inbound and outbound transactions and prevent mispicks or overpulls

Investigate inventory discrepancies including shorts, overages, mispicks, ghost inventory, and system allocation issues (COSMOS vs. Voice Link)

Validate product attributes (item, weight, date, label accuracy) before shipment to prevent billing or customer discrepancies

Monitor and control returns process, ensuring all returned products are properly documented, inspected, and system-updated

Identify and escalate issues related to Voice Link allocation errors, freeze-by/date parameters, and system inconsistencies

Ensure proper handling of damaged, off-conditioning, or no-box product, including claims and disposition (MIC/returns)

Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends, root causes, and financial impact (shrink, over-pulls, billing errors)

Partner with operations and IT to improve process efficiency and system accuracy

Enforce compliance with SOPs, inventory controls, and safety standards across all warehouse areas (cooler, freezer, dry room)

Qualifications & Requirements

An ability to perform and understand warehouse operations

An ability to work independently, demonstrate analytical thinking including mathematical skills, and the ability to solve problems. An ability to work on a computer using Windows including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and ability to learn/understand WMS systems. An ability to communicate and collaborate with all members of the team, at all levels to ensure successful customer outcomes. An inclusive approach with your colleagues and customers to forge strong relationships and foster collaboration to resolve issues. An ability and a willingness to perform basic housekeeping in assigned areas of warehouse

High school diploma or equivalent (associate's degree in business, Logistics, or related field is a plus)

Previous experience in inventory control or warehouse operations preferred

Experience with WMS, RF scanners, or inventory systems required

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment (cooler/freezer experience preferred)

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Driving forklift, cherry picker, or Electric Pallet Jack),

Must wear safety composite work shoes. * Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time
