Job description

Position Summary...Join the Walmart Connect Legal team to advise the business on legal rights, obligations, and risks while architecting the frameworks that will successfully expand Walmart Connect’s offsite media offerings through partnerships and acquisitions, including the recently announced agreement to acquire Vibe, a CTV DSP (subject to closing and regulatory review).
This is a unique opportunity to join a high-growth business with a "start-up mentality" within the largest company in the world. You will act as a true Business-to-Startup Translator, balancing compliance needs with adoption, innovation, and employee experience.
About the Team
The legal teams supporting Walmart Connect, Sam’s Club Connect, Data Ventures, and W+ advance high-growth business priorities while managing company risks. They enable leadership effectiveness through clear communication and resource coordination. By applying strong organizational and communication skills, the team ensures seamless project execution and supports business objectives with professionalism and attention to detail.
Their expertise in providing legal advice, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and legal strategy contributes to informed decision-making and effective legal support across the organization. What you'll do...
  • Business Advisor: Acting as a translator between Walmart's corporate governance and a startup culture within Walmart Connect's offsite vertical (including potentially for Vibe). You will explain policies, controls, and risk requirements in practical, non-bureaucratic terms.
  • Architecting Legal Strategy: Building, not just advising. Designing the legal frameworks, governance programs, and contract infrastructure for new products and services.
  • Driving Commercial & Contract Strategy: Negotiating high-stakes MSAs, DPAs, and media-related agreements (digital advertising insertion orders, platform terms) structured to keep sales cycles fast and risk contained.
  • Assisting Data Privacy & Compliance: Supporting the privacy teams' assessments for current and new products (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and SOC 2).
What You'll Bring:
  • You quickly establish trust, focus on identifying workable solutions instead of simply highlighting risks.
  • You read the room well, handle concerns with empathy, and are willing to work closely and share ownership with multiple stakeholders.
  • You appreciate the differences between a large enterprise and a startup environment, looking for ways to preserve what makes startups successful while seamlessly incorporating Walmart's requirements.
  • You operate effectively when processes, ownership, and decisions are still evolving, providing confident guidance despite incomplete information.
  • You have 8+ years of post-qualification experience with a heavy focus on data-driven businesses, AdTech, CTV, or large-scale consumer platforms.

At Walmart, we offer competitive pay as well as performance-based bonus awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet. You will also receive PTO and/or PPTO that can be used for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes. The amount you receive depends on your job classification and length of employment. It will meet or exceed the requirements of paid sick leave laws, where applicable. For information about PTO, see https://one.walmart.com/notices. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.
