Job Summary:
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the daily logistics activities in a manufacturing or distribution center. The Logistics Specialist participates in ensuring compliance with logistics procedures and ensuring that all transactions are made in accordance with agreed terms and conditions. This Logistics Specialist reports to the Logistics Leader for their assigned location.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Execute and own the logistics plan for purchased items in accordance with their assigned freight channels.
  • Participate in planning reviews and alignment of operations with planning and production teams.
  • Subscribe to and comply with logistics procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for improving lead time, cost reduction and on time delivery.
  • Maintain open purchase order tracking (POs) from ready for collection through customs clearance, material delivery and freight forwarder payment.
  • Manage shipment discrepancies including lost or damaged in-transit orders, including filing insurance claims.
  • Ensure that the center adheres to Schlumberger approved freight forwarder agreements and contracts.
  • Support planning and warehouse functions in resolving reception and invoice discrepancies.
  • Complete actions to continuously reduce wasted time, money and resources.
  • Comply with Schlumberger and local procedures applicable to the job function.
  • All other duties as directed by their manager.

Minimum Requirements
  • Associates degree preferred, or equivalent minimum of two (2) years' experience in a supply chain specialist role.
  • Demonstrated commitment to making and communicating a culture of positive change throughout the supply chain organization.
  • Exhibit problem solving skills.
  • Continuous process improvement mindset, including experience with Lean / Six Sigma
