The position of VP Treasury Management is responsible for developing new deposit, loan, cash management, merchant business and referrals for a specific target market of businesses and businesses professionals. This position will also provide superior level of customer service.

In addition the VP Treasury Management assures compliance with all SVB policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking/trust and investment regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing treasury management professionals.

Develop and execute treasury management strategy to support growth, profitability, and customer centric focus to best support our client needs. Reviews marketing strategies in relation to the department and SVB goals and recommends suitable marketing approaches.

Lead and manage all treasury management sales, service, implementation, and support functions. Identify opportunities to expand treasury management services among existing and prospective commercial and business customers.

Partner with market presidents, commercial lenders, investment team, and branch teams to identify treasury management opportunities. Conduct joint sales calls and presentations with TM officers and lending officers.

Evaluate market trends and customer needs to recommend new products and enhancements while managing vendor relationships and assisting with contract negotiations for treasury management technologies and services.

Oversee treasury management products including but not limited to ACH origination, wire transfer, remote deposit capture, Positive Pay, Merchant Services, Account analysis and commercial cards.

Develop procedures to promote operational efficiency to provide high level service to all treasury management clients.

Maintain awareness of NACHA operating rules, BSA/AML requirements, OFAC regulations, UCC provisions, and payment system regulations. Participate in risk assessments, internal and external audit processes related to treasury products and services.

Manage departmental budgets and expense control to ensure maximum profitability and fee income trends.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

The position of VP Treasury Management is responsible for the supervision of employee(s).

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

The environment for this position is an open office that is mostly clean and comfortable. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will.

The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 30 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.   • Bachelor’s degree or five years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a financial institution operations, sales or customer service background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
  • Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in all lending and operation activities and terminology
  • Utilize MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint with a fair degree of proficiency
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Advanced experience and knowledge in bank terminology and products and services.
  • Strong knowledge of general office practices.
  • Basic math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; count currency, coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner.
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
  • Current Illinois driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
