Are you passionate about animal welfare and ready to make a meaningful impact on a nonprofit animal rescue? We want to hear from you!

We are currently looking for a Volunteer Board Member – Treasurer to join the leadership team at Chester’s Corner Rescue Foundation.

How You Will Contribute:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial policies, reporting, and organizational budget guidance.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of donations, expenditures, and reserves.
  • Collaborate with board members to implement financial controls and organizational policies.
  • Support long-term financial sustainability and planning.

Immediate Ownership:

  • Owns high-level oversight of organizational financial management in collaboration with leadership and operational staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience supporting or leading executive-level leadership in a nonprofit, animal welfare organization, or similar sector.
  • Proven experience in nonprofit finance, accounting, or organizational oversight.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Prior board or nonprofit leadership experience in a 501(c)(3) or similar organization a plus.
  • Must reside in California.
  • Must be willing to support long-term growth toward a paid staff structure.

Commitment Details:

  • This is a volunteer board position.
  • Expected to participate in weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly board meetings initially, transitioning to quarterly meetings as the board and operations stabilize.
