Mountain Patroller

Woodward Tahoe (Boreal and Soda Springs), located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain range, is a year-round world-class action sports facility with a culture that comes straight from our main product: Fun. We're currently hiring Mountain Patrollers for the upcoming summer. If you're an outdoor enthusiast, action sport connoisseur, confident in first aid response, and thrive under pressure, this is your opportunity to join one of the most respected teams around the mountain.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a member of our Patrol team, you'll play a critical role in guest safety, terrain management, and emergency response. You'll be visible across the mountain, ensuring trails and parks are safe, responding to incidents, and supporting operational excellence.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Perform morning venue checks
  • Respond quickly to resort wide incidents and injuries
  • Provide first aid and coordinate guest transport as needed
  • Assist with special extrications off mountain bike trails, skate bowls, trampolines, and foam pits.
  • Educate guests on mountain safety and etiquette
  • Maintain and restock medical supplies at patrol stations
  • Serve as a first responder in emergency situations, including lift evacuations

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Outdoor mountain environment with challenging weather conditions (Heat, wind, rain, cold, snow, variable visibility)
  • Possible early morning start times, weekend and holiday shifts expected
  • Must be comfortable in varied terrain (Ability to mountain bike is not required)
  • Physically demanding role: lifting, hiking, extrication.
  • On-call or extended hours possible during major incidents

Who We're Looking For:

  • OEC or EMT (CA state card), and CPR
  • Calm under pressure and able to work efficiently in emergencies
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded
  • Experience in patrol, guiding, mountain rescue, or similar roles is a plus
  • Willingness to train and grow within the department
