Overview
VP MERCHANDISE PLANNING
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for directing and overseeing the planning and forecasting processes for all business divisions to ensure company financial objectives are achieved. The Vice President will lead and develop the strategic and analytical support for merchandising through all phases of the product life cycle (pre-season and in season) and will collaborate with cross functional business partners to ensure sales, gross margin, and key investment goals are achieved. This position will be responsible for the management of the merchandise planning team.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the strategic financial objectives of the division through accurate and proactive management and forecasting of sales, margin, and inventory levels to achieve targets
• Provide high-level analysis and business reports to leadership
• Develop and share merchandise analysis to inform and lead decision-making, including weekly promotional pricing and markdown decisions
• Partner with merchandising and allocation on the timing and quantity of new and existing product flow into the stores to maximize profitability
• Demonstrates effective working relationships, building strong partnerships and influencing cross-functional leaders, inclusive of merchandising, allocation, marketing, finance, and production.
• Drive planning process improvements, standardizations, and best practices aligned to accommodate the complexities of the business.
• Accountable for leveraging departments to achieve division results
• Lead, develop, and manage planning team - provide training and career development.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• 10+ years in a full life cycle DTC inventory planning environment with VP or Director level experience preferred
• Strong leadership presence at all levels; demonstrated experience leading a team through change in strategy or company direction
• Collaborative in approach, able to develop successful business relationships across the organization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to analyze situations and make recommendations that are consistent with the company vision
• Experience building strong teams while developing and transforming talent
• Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities while working in a fast-paced, specialty retail environment
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency and strong knowledge of Planning Systems (Foresight/ Micro strategy)

USD $158,400.00 - USD $288,000.00 /Yr.
