Job description

The Volunteer Services Department is committed to providing equal opportunity for all applicants volunteering at Union Hospital.  This includes the acceptance, training, and assignment of volunteers regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender age, marital status, disability, or medical condition.  The department has the responsibility to recruit the most qualified volunteer, determine their capabilities, and make assignments accordingly.  After filling out the on-line application, prospective volunteers will be contacted to set up an interview in the Volunteer Services Department.  This interview will allow us to discuss your interests and previous experience and explore the volunteer options you may wish to pursue.  Information on various volunteer assignments and the requirements for each service will be given at this time.  Prospective volunteers will complete an application for a background check, provide two references, submit to required medical testing, and receive orientation and proper training.  All information will be kept confidential at all times.  Every effort will be made to match your available time with an assignment where additional volunteers are needed.
