Part-Time Church Accountant


Supplee Presbyterian Church is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Church Accountant to oversee financial operations for the Church, its endowment funds, and Supplee Nursery School. This position works closely with the Pastor/Head of Staff, Treasurer, President of the Corporation, Stewardship and Finance Committee, and Nursery School Director

• Maintain accurate accounting records for Church, Nursery School, and Endowment Fund receipts, disbursements, and other trans act

• Perform monthly bank and investment reconciliations and prepare regular financial r

pots.
• Manage accounts payable, including reviewing and processi ng

invoces.
• Maintain payroll records and submit monthly payroll information to the payrol

l

proider.
• Record Nursery School tuition and ot

her reeipts.
• Maintain contribution records, reconcile contributions to the general ledger, and prepare donor giv

i

ng staements.
• Coordinate weekly counting and recording of Church offerings and oversee the voluntee r c

ounting chedule.
• Assist with annual budgets, financial worksheets, and reports for the Annual Cong

r

egationa Meeting.
• Serve as the primary contact for Church insurance matters, including workers’ compensation audits and vendor/contractor in

surance cetificates.
• Stay current on relevant IRS, payroll, and Presbytery

inancial rquirements.
• Attend monthly evening Stewardship and Finance Committee meetings and present fina nci

al informatin as needed.
• Support Church committees with budgeti

• Maintain required employee and

volunteer clerance records.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field or thre

e

or more years rlevant experience.
• Three or more years of financial reporting or accounting experience; chu

rch or nonprofit eperience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, intern

l controls, and paroll administration.
• High proficienc y w

ith QuickBooks, Micrsoft Excel, and Word.
• Experience with payroll services, online financial transactions,

and database or churh management software.
• Excellent communication skills, attention t o d

etail, organization, dscretion, and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while collaborati

g effectively with chuch staff and volunteers.
