Job description

Position Title: eCampus Instructional Design Specialist
Department:  Peoria eCampus Virtual School
Supervisor: eCampus Administration
Term of Employment:  12 months
Salary Classification: Classified Hourly | Grade 17
Job Summary:  The person is responsible for supporting K-12 teachers with the design and implementation of online course content. 
Essential Functions:  Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include, but are not limited to, the following tasks, duties, knowledge, skills and other characteristics.  This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by incumbents in this class. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES generally include the following. Other duties may be assigned:













  • Works with K-12 teachers to develop online course content including instructional resources, learning activities, and assessments.
  • Integrates instructional resources, learning activities, and assessments within the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Maintains project documentation and course folders.
  • Applies research based instructional design theories, practices, and methods.
  • Creates training resources for teachers.
  • Conducts data analysis and surveys on effectiveness of instructional resources, learning activities, and assessments.
  • Handles student and teacher technical support cases through phone, email, and virtual support sessions.
  • Assists eCampus staff with proctoring of state assessments, mid-terms, labs, and final exams.
  • Assists eCampus Secretary during high volume/peak periods of the school year.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to write effective instructional text and audio/video scripts.
  • Basic lesson and curriculum planning skills.
  • Proven working experience in the Moodle LMS and Office 365.
  • Skill in customizing course content in the Edgenuity platform.
  • Ability to use video and image capturing systems such as Camtasia, Microsoft Stream, and SnagIT.
  • Ability to use Adobe Acrobat Professional to create/modify documents.
  • Basic HTML programming knowledge.
  • Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
  • Skill in preparing regulatory reports, files, and correspondence.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, vendors, students, parents, the general public and others having business with the school district.
  • Possess excellent personal relations/communication skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  A high school diploma or GED AND 2 years verifiable work experience in an office environment using various computer programs. Educational environment experience desirable OR any equivalent combination of experience and education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:    

  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver's license.
  • May be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • May be required to work outside normal working hours.
  • May be required to travel to perform work functions.
