Job description

Summary Research Service is hiring a Program Support Specialist to handle complex administrative and data support for clinic profile management, including oversight of clinic profiles, scheduling, and analysis of supply and demand across the medical center. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Functions as the ADPC for Research Service, which includes troubleshooting PC, laptops, telephone, and fax problems, and submits work orders for whichever is most appropriate, for problems that employees cannot resolve. Responsible for assuring that all information technology equipment with the service is operational and functions and coordinates with IT equipment replacement/installation with all other services. Responsible for the Scope of Practice program for individual on projects, to include annual reviews by individual, PI, and ACOS/R. Assembles and summarizes data, background information, and other materials from publications and other sources. Maintains automated system of program-specific data to track items such as project milestones, progress reports, compliances strategies, etc. Utilizes the VAIRRS, ePROMISE and other databases to ensure projects have received appropriate subcommittee approvals and individuals meet VA research training requirements. Incumbent will be required to work with and have a broad understanding of the work conducted by those individuals who are responsible for various research committees and subcommittees as well as Institutional Review Boards. The incumbent will serve as a general backup for those individuals responsible for the above committees. The incumbent is the Research Service PIV sponsor, responsible for processing PIV cards for all Research employees, including verifying that WOC employees have a bona fide need for a PIV card. The incumbent serves as the primary timekeeper for Research Services. Works with committee and subcommittee coordinators to maintain regulatory committee rosters and appointment letters. The incumbent tracks all required Research personnel training in TMS and CITI. The incumbent maintains the training databases, updates it weekly, and runs routine reports. Researches and maintains service-level policies and SOPs per regulations and facility policy. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: experience utilizing office automation to maintain files, generate reports and create documents; experience performing customer service duties such as providing administrative support to medical staff in clinic management processes; reviewing and processing official documents and forms to ensure compliance with an organization's policies, directives, guidelines or training materials. Preferred Experience: Incumbent must have in-depth knowledge of VA Regulations, rules, and directives on human subjects and Research Program accreditation, accessible via VA intranet and internet courses. Experience in ADPAC troubleshooting PC, laptops, phones, and faxes, including submitting work orders. Practical training in TMS and CITI.
