The AvionX organization is looking for aSenior Technical Program Managementto join the Commercial Aircraft Controls team in various locations such as; Long Beach, CA, Seattle, WA., and Mesa, AZ.

This Senior Project Manger will lead a highly technical commercial avionics development program. The ideal candidate combines deep avionics technical credibility with strong program and people leadership. This handson role requires proven ability to deliver complex, safetycritical airborne electronics and software to schedule, budget, and certifiable quality standards while leading crossfunctional, geographically distributed teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead daytoday program execution, ensuring objectives for schedule, cost, performance, and quality are met.

  • Provide technical leadership for systems/avionics architecture, integration, verification & validation, and certification strategy.

  • Manage and mentor an integrated program team-systems, hardware, firmware, software, test, supplier management, manufacturing, and sustainment.

  • Coordinate and align domestic and international matrixed teams, suppliers, and subcontractors across time zones and cultures.

  • Own program plan, schedule, budget, risk/issue/opportunity register, and change control; deliver regular status briefings to senior leadership and customers.

  • Drive requirements decomposition, configuration management, technical reviews, and design maturity milestones.

  • Interface with customers, certification authorities (e.g., FAA, EASA), and tier1 suppliers to negotiate requirements, technical approaches, and delivery commitments.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and company quality systems (e.g., DO178C, DO254, ARP4754A, ARP4761).

  • Lead supplier selection, performance management, and integration activities; hold suppliers accountable to technical and schedule commitments.

  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement through innovation, and crossfunctional collaboration aligned with the Boeing values and behaviors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Computer Science, Systems or related technical discipline).

  • 8+ years of experience do you have with avionics systems and aerospace systems

  • 5+ years of experience leading technical program management teams and or

  • 5+ years of people management experience

  • Travel up to 50% depending on program needs; international and domestic travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technical discipline or MBA.

  • Experience with ARP4754A and ARP4761 and safety assessment processes.

  • Demonstrated supplier management experience at tier1 and tier2 levels, strong negotiation skills.

  • Program Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing transfer, sustainment planning, and product support lifecycle.

  • Experience with modelbased systems engineering (MBSE) tools and processes.

  • Demonstrated experience managing commercial avionics programs or major avionics subsystems from concept through certification and production.

  • Proven experience leading geographically distributed domestic and international teams.

  • Working knowledge and applied experience with airborne software/hardware development and certification standards (DO178C and/or DO254) and systems certification processes (FAA/EASA).

  • Track record of meeting schedule and budget commitments on complex programs.

  • Strong leadership, team building, and communication skills; able to present technical content to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
