Job description

Your opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Manager, Technical Program Management to lead, scale, and inspire a high-performing team of Technical Program Managers dedicated to our Reliability Charter. In this role, your team will have distinct ownership over reliability, operational governance, and Incident management. You will bridge the gap between complex technical execution and overarching business strategy, driving the delivery of organizational OKRs. You are a seasoned leader who thrives in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, optimizing operational frameworks to maximize information flow, system resilience, and speed to market with minimal overhead.

What you'll do

  • Drive Reliability & Governance: Deploy and equip a team of technical program managers to drive the achievement of organizational OKRs-with a specific focus on reliability, operational governance, and risk mitigation by leading complex initiatives and optimizing team execution. Adjust the team's plans quickly in the face of changing priorities or system needs.
  • Empower the Team: Manage and coach technical program managers to ensure success in their roles. Strive to continually increase the team's overall technical program management bench strength. Drive accountability for high performance.
  • Optimize Frameworks: Implement operational governance frameworks that incur the least amount of overhead while maximizing information flow, incident response efficiency, and support for the home organization's goals. Anchor teams in best practices for rapid delivery and system stability with transparency for leadership.
  • Lead from the Front: Act as a Principal Program Manager on especially challenging problems, such as major incidents or complex risk management scenarios. Work with leaders across the company to drive key trade-off decisions. Identify gaps and risks in execution. Take decisive action in ambiguous situations.
  • Foster Collaboration: Build strong relationships with partnered Directors, VPs, and other leaders across the company to promote successful execution against reliability goals. Lead the team in partnering closely with cross-functional counterparts in engineering, sales, marketing, finance, customer success, and support to launch new, highly resilient capabilities.

This role requires

  • Proven background in Incident Management, including establishing, scaling, or leading incident response and operational governance protocols.
  • BS/BA degree, applicable certification, or equivalent related experience required.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in technical program management, engineering, or related fields.
  • 4-6 years of people management experience is desirable.

Bonus points if you have

  • ITIL Certification
  • Aptitude for driving toward measurable outcomes and results. Comfortable with the challenging and experimental nature of work.
  • Strong communicator and executive presence. Proven ability to influence without organizational power.
  • Determined self-starter with the wisdom to know when to collaborate to achieve your goals and strong experience building trust relationships across an organization, with teammates at all levels. Highly successful at assembling and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Working technical proficiency. Deep understanding of the SDLC, engineering standards, and architectural risk management.
  • Able to navigate organizational issues (getting to agreements between different teams without assistance)
