Job Description

Moog's Space Division delivers highperformance solutions that enable reliable spacecraft operation, mission longevity, and customer confidence across commercial, civil, and defense space programs. As the division continues to grow, unified and disciplined program management is essential to ensuring consistent execution and strengthening customer trust.

The Director of Program Management is responsible for building and leading a highperforming program management organization that delivers predictable and repeatable financial, schedule, and performance outcomes across a complex portfolio of programs, including both Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and Cost Plus (CP) programs.

This role is accountable for enterprise execution discipline, Estimate at Complete (EAC) integrity, process rigor, and program management talent development. The Director will serve as the authority for program execution, partnering closely with Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Business Unit Leadership to protect margin, customer confidence, and corporate credibility.

As Director of Program Management, you will:

Develop and implement divisionwide program management strategy

  • Develop, train, and oversee implementation of functional strategies and objectives for program management across the Space Division.
  • Establish consistent reporting structures, program baselines, and bestpractice frameworks aligned with industry standards.
  • Ensure alignment with recognized government and commercial contracting expectations.

Lead and build program management capability

  • Lead the program management function for multiple Space Business Units, including direct leadership of PM personnel.
  • Build and mentor senior program management leadership, ensuring required competencies and behaviors are fully embedded.
  • Create dashboards, performance metrics, and management tools that monitor ongoing program effectiveness.

Strengthen program performance and execution rigor

  • Review underperforming programs, partner with program leadership on mitigation plans, and oversee recovery execution.
  • Establish program baselines to ensure execution meets or exceeds cost, schedule, and margin targets.
  • Position Program Management as a strategic enabler for revenue growth, operating profit, and customer loyalty.

Champion collaboration and integrated execution

  • Collaborate across functional and business unit teams to unify program management expectations and execution practices.
  • Serve as the central point of alignment for PM governance, communication, and process consistency across the Space Division.

To be considered for the role, here's what you will need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Science (MBA preferred).
  • At least 15 years of program management experience with demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Proven ability to develop functional strategies, establish best practices, and implement largescale processes.
  • Experience leading in a matrixed organization with strong collaboration and influence skills.
  • PMP certification and demonstrated competency with industry standards for government and commercial contract types.
  • Demonstrated success managing customers at the executive level.
  • Prior experience in Aerospace & Defense or other highly regulated industries preferred.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $225,000.00-$325,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
