Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
Lead Proctors will administer various types of academic and placement testing and pre-employment and skills assessments to corporate individuals, as well as certification exams to qualified candidates. Exhibit thorough knowledge and understanding of all testing center policies, procedures, materials, and available assessments and certifications offered. Assist manager with training, scheduling, as well as any duties and tasks relating to assessment and certification as assigned.
** Must have the ability and willingness to travel to all Lake County campus locations/ sites of East Chicago, Gary, and Crown Point, as well as external agencies as directed by manager **
Major Responsibilities:
  • Handle off site testing administration. Subject to daytime and evening testing administration
  • Coordinate testing administration with career development programs in need of testing certification credentialing for community agencies for Lake County, IN.
  • Handle testing administration within our Lake County Campus locations.
  • Perform testing center updates.
  • Proctor virtual requests as needed
  • Perform systems checks for proctor stations and third-party vendor platforms.
  • Provide certification, assessment, and distance education exam administration according to designated proctor policies and procedures.
  • Assist in occasional off-site testing as needed.
  • Complete all required high-stakes exam proctor training and stay current with exam protocol changes.
  • Assist manager in training testing center staff.
  • Provide limited hardware and software troubleshooting, including calls to testing company technical support services when problems arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of all assessment services provided and provide this information to appropriate college offices on a timely basis.
  • Adjust testing procedures for individuals according to documentation by the Special Needs Counselor prior to testing sessions.
  • Assist with organizing and scheduling Center activity.
  • Respond to customer questions and concerns.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of testing center exams, materials, activities, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, fully stocked with supplies assessment and certification center at all times.
  • Participates in major campus events such as, but not limited to, the commencement ceremony.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Associates degree, or ½ years relevant work experiences
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Travel may be required at times.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage and coordinator multiple tasks
  • 1-2 years of excellent communication and customer service experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software
