Job description

Overview
The Exam Proctor is responsible for the administration of all EVMS computer based examinations and web-based NBME Subject Examinations in strict compliance with EVMS and NBME testing regulations. The Exam Proctor is responsible for maintaining examination security and ensuring that examinees comply with all testing processes/procedures outlined by EVMS and the NBME.
This is a transient position, working no more than 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities
  • Become thoroughly familiar with EVMS and NBME testing procedures and conduct the examinations according to these specified procedures.

  • Have a working knowledge of the ExamSoft website and familiarity with the Examplify application, and be able to perform basic trouble shooting procedures. Be able to access NBME Test Administration website and perform all necessary duties and functions.

  • Ensure that the testing facility is set up properly. Ensure that all educational materials have been removed from the room and the facility, and that the surrounding area is free from impediments or distractions. Ensure that examinees do not have items in the test facility that are not permitted.

  • Plan the admission and dismissal of examinees to ensure test security and minimal disturbance as examinees leave the facility. Ensure that late-arriving examinees are not admitted to the testing facility. Complete Late Arriving/Missing Examinee report and submit to the Office of Student Performance and Evaluation.

  • Ensure that verbal instructions are read aloud and verbatim to examinees.

  • Prevent or minimize any disturbances to examinees during the examination administration.

  • Maintain integrity of the examination process throughout the test administration.

  • Monitor examinee behavior during the examination. Verify any irregular behavior with another Examination Administrator and document the irregular behavior.

  • Complete Incident Report at the end of the session and attach documentation of any irregular behavior. Submit Incident Report to the Office of Student Performance and Evaluation. Complete all required forms and promptly return them to the NBME for NBME Subject Examinations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High school diploma. Bachelor's Degree Preferred. Prior experience in an educational environment, combination of education and experience. Instructional/testing experience a plus. Strong working knowledge of MS Windows 7, MS Office, and Internet Explorer required. Candidates should be well versed in accessing and utilizing web-based applications.
