PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

This position is primarily responsible for supporting the daily activities of the Billing Department.ย  ย 
REPORTS TO

The Billing Assistant reports directly to the Billing Manager. This position works collaboratively with other Emergicon personnel in all departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Print, match, sign and mail HCFA formsย 
Call hospitals for information to bill out claimsย 
Send out Physician Certification of Medical Necessity requestsย 
Send outpatient signature requests
Obtain missing claim information from clients and facilitiesย 
Bill Treated Not Transported (TNT) claimsย 
Other job-related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

EMS/Ambulance medical billing office experience a plus
HS diploma or GED required
Detail-oriented
Strong verbal communication skills
Computer literacy
Professional phone skills

WORKING CONDITIONS
Position requires long periods of sitting/standing at a desk while using a computer.
