In its curriculum and campus engagements, it recognizes a plurality of the world's many philosophical and religious perspectives.

Essential Job Functions
The Department of Philosophy & Religion seeks to hire multiple adjunct Instructors for various courses for the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters at our Boone campus.
Course preparation and delivery, maintaining office hours, grading, and student engagement. Face-to-face delivery is preferred, but synchronous or asynchronous online delivery with virtual office hours will be considered.
Courses may include PHL 1000 Introduction to Philosophy, PHL 2000 Philosophy, Society, and Ethics and/or PHL 2015 Environmental Ethics. Descriptions of these courses, with the General Education requirements that they fulfill, can be found in the current Undergraduate Bulletin. Other courses dependent on department need and instructor expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Philosophy
Relevant teaching experience and evidence of effective teaching
Number of Hours Per Week Varies based on course schedule (maximum 5 courses per academic year) Number of Months per Year 9 Hiring Range Commensurate with qualifications and equity
