Job description

DUTIES: 

Reporting to the Program Director, responsible for implementation and instruction of project-based learning and work readiness component elements for the Participant Program. 

  • Responsible for the design of Educational Component elements including Workplace Readiness, Financial Literacy, Health Education, Higher Education Exploration, Career Exploration and Reflection, and Analysis. 
  • Coordinate with the Program Coordinator in scheduling participants in Project-based Learning cohorts. 
  • Work with the Program Coordinator and seasonal Education Specialists in the direct implementation and virtual delivery of the Project-based Learning Component. 
  • Responsible for administering appropriate assessment examinations. 
  • Responsible for coordinating with the Program Director and Program Coordinator for final projects and special events. 


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of college and 2 years of instructional experience. 
  • Ability to design and implement course curricula. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to work a flexible and occasionally hectic schedule. 
  • Knowledge of SEL and PYD. 
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Experience in virtual classroom instruction and management.
    Knowledge of East Flatbush, Flatbush, Crown Heights, and Canarsie neighborhoods.
