This position combines bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation, customer service, and general administrative responsibilities and is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with financial information and clients.
Job Description
The Bookkeeper / Office Administrator will handle day-to-day bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping while also supporting CPAs and office staff with tax preparation and administrative duties. Responsibilities include entering financial transactions, reconciling accounts, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, maintaining client records, and helping prepare and enter tax returns using online tax software.
This position also serves as a point of contact for clients, making strong communication skills and a professional, welcoming demeanor important.
Responsibilities
  • Enter and categorize financial transactions
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
  • Assist with payroll processing and related bookkeeping duties
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Organize and maintain accurate client files and financial records
  • Assist with preparing and entering tax returns using online tax software
  • Support tax preparation and electronic filing processes
  • Answer incoming phone calls professionally
  • Greet and assist clients in a welcoming manner
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail
  • Provide general office and administrative support
  • Assist CPAs and other staff with administrative duties as needed
  • Maintain accuracy and confidentiality when handling client and financial information

Experience
  • Previous bookkeeping and/or accounting office experience required
