Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As an LCSW at Viewpoint, your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass:

• Conducting thorough clinical assessments to understand client needs and create individualized treatment plans employing evidence-based methodologies.
• Implementing therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored to support clients in building coping strategies.
• Maintaining meticulous and secure clinical records, adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy.
• Collaborating in a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to deliver integrated care that addresses all facets of a client’s recovery.
• Facilitating educational sessions for clients and their families regarding mental health issues, treatment options, and community resources to bolster their understanding and support system.
• Staying current with relevant research and incorporating new insights into your practice to enhance treatment effectiveness and overall client care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on clients undergoing detoxification and those struggling with substance use disorders. By offering empathetic support and targeted interventions, you will play a critical role in helping clients navigate their recovery paths, build resilience, and achieve lasting positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution, demonstrating a strong foundation in social work principles.
• A current and valid license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York state.
• At least three years of clinical experience in social work, preferably in a mental health or substance use treatment setting.
• Proven knowledge of various psychotherapy interventions, with a particular emphasis on solution-focused methods.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply critical thinking to develop effective treatment strategies.

Preferred Experience

While not required, experience in detox or rehabilitation settings, knowledge of addiction recovery processes, and familiarity with community resources available for clients can be advantageous for candidates to excel in this role.

Compensation and Benefits
