Job Summary:

The Tigers are seeking a creative and social savvy video assistant to join the social media team for the 2026 season. This individual will be responsible for assisting the social media team with gameday responsibilities and social-first video projects. They will have a strong understanding of video editing and the social media sports landscape. The ideal candidate will generate fresh, exciting ideas that will engage our fans and be able to turn creative video edits around on tight timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit engaging social-first video content for various platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

  • Collaborate with the social media team to deliver high-quality short and long-form content in a timely manner such as in-game highlights, polished hype reels, features and sponsored content.

  • Support day-to-day social media content calendar execution and real-time content creation.

  • Work in partnership with internal stakeholders including sponsorship, ticket sales and community impact to manage day-to-day project expectations and deliverables for select programming, special events and campaigns.

  • Develop content that ties Tigers baseball back to current events, trending topics and pop culture in a way that is relevant to the Tigers brand and our fan base.

  • Brainstorm and execute quality creative that helps us reach new fans and increases video views.

  • As needed, capture content for social media at home games and offsite promotional, community and sponsor events.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, social media platform updates and emerging technologies to advise on and continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of our video content.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • College student or recent graduate with a degree in video editing and production or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and solid technical knowledge.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience creating and editing video content for social media.

  • Knowledge and experience in videography, editing, lighting and sound.

  • Above average knowledge and understanding of the game of baseball.

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must always maintain a professional attitude and be receptive to feedback.

  • Be adaptable to change and open to different perspectives.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, nights and holidays.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working in the sports and entertainment industry

  • Experience with motion graphics a plus
