About the Role


The Senior Vice President of Operations is responsible for leading operational excellence across NYPKC and ensuring consistent execution of the company's strategy across every school and support function.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive owns the systems, processes, and operational infrastructure that enable our schools to deliver an exceptional experience for children, families, and employees while achieving organizational growth and financial performance.

This role serves as the operational leader of the organization, translating strategy into execution while building scalable systems, disciplined operating practices, and a culture of accountability.

The SVP of Operations partners closely with Finance, Education, Human Resources, Enrollment, Marketing, and school leadership to ensure the organization operates as one high-performing platform.


How This Role Fits Into the Organization


The Senior Vice President of Operations reports directly to the CEO and serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.

This role oversees day-to-day operations across all NYPKC schools and corporate operational functions, ensuring alignment between strategy and execution.

What You’ll Do

Multi-Site Operations Leadership

  • Lead day-to-day operations across all NYPKC schools
  • Ensure operational consistency across locations while maintaining flexibility to meet neighborhood-specific needs
  • Develop operational standards that create a best-in-class parent and employee experience
  • Drive accountability for operational execution throughout the organization

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve company-wide operational processes
  • Develop scalable operating procedures, playbooks, and systems
  • Identify opportunities to simplify operations, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve execution
  • Champion continuous improvement across every function

School Performance

  • Partner with school leadership to improve operational performance across all locations
  • Monitor key business metrics including:
  • Enrollment
  • Capacity utilization
  • Staffing
  • Labor productivity
  • Customer satisfaction

  • Partner with facilities teams on maintenance, capital improvements, vendor management, and operational readiness

  • Own operational aspects of the family journey from enrollment through graduation
  • Partner with Enrollment and Marketing to ensure a seamless experience across every touchpoint
  • Continuously improve customer service standards, communication, onboarding, and issue resolution

Operational Systems & Technology

  • Lead the organization's operational technology strategy

Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of progressive operational leadership experience
  • Minimum of 5 years leading multi-site operations across multiple locations
  • Experience leading leaders and managing large cross-functional organizations
  • Strong financial and operational acumen with experience managing budgets and operational KPIs
  • Demonstrated success building scalable operating systems and processes
  • Experience leading organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into action
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to build high-performing teams and develop leaders
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Experience within education, hospitality, healthcare, retail, or other multi-unit service organizations strongly preferred
  • Private equity-backed growth experience preferred
