General Summary

This position will play a pivotal role in assisting the VP Network Security in maintaining the security of the organizationโ€™s computer systems and networks. They assist with the implementation of measures that effectively safeguard sensitive data in the event of a cyber-attack. They will act as a mentor to the Microsoft Administrator by contributing to the maintenance of the Microsoft 365 environment (covering SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, Intune, Teams, etc.); assisting in on-premise and cloud infrastructure implementations and consistently applying effective cybersecurity best practices. This role will also work with the Network Services team in developing and implementing system hardening configurations and auditing systems to verify proper security measures are in place and active when new systems and hardware are deployed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with development of network security standards and best practices for the organization.
  • Research network products, services, protocols and standards to create optimal network and cloud design topologies and configurations.
  • Operate network management tools to analyze system inventory, configuration, changes, events, security, logs and errors.
  • Ensure system & security alerts are analyzed, triaged for severity, and dealt with accordingly to ensure the bankโ€™s systems and data remain secure.
  • Evaluate and recommend for purchase, networking hardware, software and other network related applications.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of networking contracts and assist with contract-based installations as assigned.
  • Assist with Change Management, Security, Availability, Capacity and Continuity processes.
  • Help create and maintain technology strategic plan.
  • Assist with the Bankโ€™s Business Continuity Plan and the IT Risk assessment.
  • Respond to emergency network outages and security incidents in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with Information Security Officer (ISO) on NIST CRI and Third-party information security vendor alerts/findings.
  • Resolve all IT audit/exam items as assigned.
  • Prepare and recommend solutions to system problems and new technology.
  • Troubleshoot and research problems experienced by user departments.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental goals and objectives with senior management, including project prioritization and classification of strategic, tactical, maintenance, and other bank projects.
  • Advise VP and SVP on budget needs and monitor actual expenses to budgeted expenses.
  • Attend and participate in professional group meetings and stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the technology and financial industry.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Be familiar with and comply with the provisions of the Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act as they relate to the functions of this position. Complete all required reports related to those acts and report any observed violations or potential violations of those acts to a supervisor or other appropriate bank officer.
  • Be familiar with and comply with all federal and state banking regulations as applicable.

Qualifications

Experience and/or Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in information technology preferred.
  • Extensive computer/network/information security knowledge
  • Minimum of five (5) years in technical position or equivalent education
  • Minimum of five (5) years administrating Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)
  • Experience administrating Microsoft Servers within a hosted environment.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell.
  • Proficiency in operating within an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environment.
  • Familiarity with network components and functions (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, VLANs, Routing Protocols, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Group Policy or similar tools for setting baseline standards

Licenses & Designations

  • Technical Certification strongly preferred, specifically in cyber security and cloud security
