Overview & Position Summary

The Executive Vice President of Operations is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for defining and executing the enterprise operational strategy. This role provides oversight of all operational functions within the homebuilding organization, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, financial performance, and long-term growth. This role also drives operational excellence across markets by establishing scalable processes, optimizing performance, and enabling consistent execution. This leader plays a critical role in shaping strategy, influencing executive decisions, and building a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide operational strategy aligned with business goals and growth objectives.
  • Oversee all core operational functions, including construction, purchasing, land development, and customer experience.
  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to set strategic priorities and drive operational readiness for expansion.
  • Ensure consistent performance across regions by establishing standards, best practices, and scalable processes.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive efficiency, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee operational financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Analyze market trends and business performance to inform strategic planning and risk management.
  • Develop and mentor senior leaders, strengthening organizational capability and succession planning.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Represent the organization with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive operations leadership experience, including executive-level responsibility in homebuilding, residential development, or a similar industry.
  • Proven success leading large, multi-regional operations and delivering measurable business results.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) in a related field.
  • 16+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • Strategic leadership with the ability to translate vision into execution across complex organizations.
  • Deep understanding of homebuilding operations, including construction, land development, and supply chain.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment with routine collaboration across departments and executive stakeholders. Occasional visits to field and construction sites may be required to support operational reviews and cross-functional initiatives. Travel may be required to support multi-market operations, business reviews, or corporate meetings.

Automobile Allowance Requirement:
This position is eligible for an automobile allowance. Candidates must maintain a valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and automobile insurance meeting company coverage requirements. Proof of insurance will be required before employment.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $220,000-$260,000
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Bonus Type: Year End Discretionary
