Job description

At Broadridge, we've built a culture where the highest goal is to empower others to accomplish more. If you're passionate about developing your career, while helping others along the way, come join the Broadridge team.
Broadridge is hiring! We are seeking a Vice President, Quality Software Engineering to lead strategic quality engineering capabilities across Platform Quality Engineering (PQE), with primary responsibility for testing tools, tool adoption, tool labs and innovation, coaching, and transformation rollout.
This is a hands-on, highly technical leadership role for an engineering leader who combines deep software engineering and quality engineering expertise with the ability to lead a small team and drive change across a broader organization. The Vice President will be expected to operate at both the strategic and technical levels-defining direction, evaluating and implementing tools, guiding engineering practices, coaching teams, and directly influencing how quality engineering capabilities are scaled across the enterprise.
As a senior engineering leader, you will partner across Platform Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, Product, and delivery teams to modernize the testing toolchain, accelerate adoption of enterprise standards, advance innovation through tool labs and emerging technologies, and lead transformation efforts that improve engineering quality, efficiency, and delivery outcomes. This role will also play a key part in shaping the practical application of AI-assisted quality engineering capabilities across teams.
Responsibilities
  • Define and lead the strategy for PQE strategic testing tools and quality engineering capabilities across the organization.
  • Lead and develop a small, high-performing team focused on enterprise testing tools, innovation, enablement, and transformation.
  • Serve as a hands-on technical leader in the evaluation, implementation, optimization, and scaling of testing tools and supporting engineering utilities.
  • Drive enterprise adoption of strategic testing tools through standards, enablement, coaching, and measurement of effectiveness.
  • Build and mature tool labs and innovation initiatives to assess emerging testing technologies, accelerators, and AI-assisted engineering capabilities.
  • Lead proof-of-concept efforts, technical evaluations, and feasibility assessments to inform strategic investment decisions.
  • Partner with Platform Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, and delivery leaders to ensure testing tools align with platform strategy, developer workflows, and enterprise engineering standards.
  • Coach and mentor engineers, SDETs, and leaders on modern quality engineering practices, tool usage, and adoption of improved engineering approaches.
  • Lead transformation rollout efforts tied to quality engineering modernization, helping teams adopt new tools, operating practices, and standards at scale.
  • Define and track success metrics related to tool adoption, engineering effectiveness, quality improvements, and delivery efficiency.
  • Drive standardization and reduce fragmentation across testing tools and related quality engineering practices.
  • Advance the use of AI-assisted testing and engineering tools, including experimentation, governance, practical application, and scaled adoption.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic recommendations to senior management on opportunities to improve quality engineering maturity and engineering effectiveness across the organization.

Basic Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, test engineering, or related technical disciplines, including significant experience leading enterprise-scale engineering capabilities.
  • 5+ years of experience leading technical teams and developing engineering talent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Deep technical expertise in software engineering, quality engineering, testing tools, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Proven experience evaluating, implementing, and scaling enterprise testing tools and quality engineering solutions across multiple teams or product areas.
  • Strong hands-on experience with testing technologies across UI, API, integration, and related engineering use cases.
  • Strong programming or scripting experience in languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices, including integration with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Bamboo, or similar platforms.
  • Proven success driving organizational adoption of technical tools, practices, and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead highly technical, cross-functional initiatives across engineering, architecture, and platform teams.
  • Strong communication and leadership presence, with the ability to influence at both the engineering and executive levels.
  • Proven ability to lead technical transformation while remaining close to implementation details and hands-on engineering decisions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading strategic quality engineering, testing tools, or developer enablement initiatives in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of platform engineering concepts and how internal platforms improve developer productivity and engineering quality.
  • Experience establishing innovation programs, labs, or proof-of-concept models for engineering tools and accelerators.
  • Expertise in AI-assisted development and testing tools, including governance, experimentation, and scaled adoption.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and distributed platform testing.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Xray, and related engineering lifecycle tools.
  • Experience with containerized and cloud-native environments, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of engineering metrics and the ability to define KPIs that measure tool effectiveness, adoption, and quality outcomes.
  • Proven success leading modernization and transformation efforts across engineering organizations.
  • Financial services or other highly regulated industry experience preferred.
