POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President of Platform Engineering will be responsible for leading the strategy, architecture, delivery, and operational excellence of enterprise technology platforms across cloud engineering, DevOps, infrastructure as code, IT security, artificial intelligence, and application platform services.
This is a senior leadership role requiring more than 20 years of technology experience and a proven track record of building scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective platforms that support business growth, innovation, and operational efficiency.
The VP of Platform Engineering will work closely with Infrastructure, Information Security, Application Development, Data, and business leadership teams to modernize technology capabilities, accelerate software delivery, improve system reliability, strengthen security practices, and maximize the value of cloud and platform investments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the enterprise platform engineering strategy across cloud, DevOps, automation, AI enablement, security, and application platform services.
• Design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and resilient platforms across public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Advance DevOps maturity through the implementation of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, release automation, and platform self-service capabilities.
• Partner with Information Security to embed security-by-design principles, identity and access controls, vulnerability management, compliance standards, and secure engineering practices into platform services.
• Lead AI platform enablement, including infrastructure, tooling, governance, automation, and integration patterns that support enterprise AI initiatives.
• Oversee application platform architecture, developer experience, API management, container platforms, observability, monitoring, and operational support capabilities.
• Establish enterprise platform standards, reference architectures, engineering best practices, operating models, and governance frameworks.
• Build, lead, and mentor high-performing engineering teams, including cloud engineers, DevOps engineers, site reliability engineers, platform architects, and automation specialists.
• Improve system reliability, performance, availability, disaster recovery for cloud based Applications, business continuity for Cloud based Applications, and incident response capabilities.
• Manage technology roadmaps, vendor relationships, budgets, capacity planning, platform lifecycle management, and investment optimization.
• Collaborate with business and technology leaders to ensure platform capabilities are aligned with enterprise priorities and business outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement across engineering delivery, operational processes, security posture, resiliency, automation, and cost efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive technology experience across IT infrastructure, platform engineering, cloud engineering, application development, DevOps, CI/CD, SaaS management, quality assurance, cloud based disaster recovery, and IT security.

• Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, observability platforms, and cloud security tools.
• Understanding of SRE practices, platform product management, FinOps, enterprise architecture governance, and secure software delivery.
• Experience supporting AI, automation, data, or application modernization initiatives in an enterprise environment.
• Relevant certifications in cloud, security, DevOps, enterprise architecture, or AI technologies preferred.
