The Vice President, Digital Marketing is a newly created global leadership role responsible for building and scaling a best-in-class digital marketing engine that drives the GXO customer value proposition & differentiation in the 3PL, contract logistics and warehouse automation spaces.  This role owns the enterprise digital marketing strategy and leads the team responsible for Marketing Operations, Digital Campaigns, Analytics, and Project Management that powers data-driven, performance-based marketing across all channels.

The Vice President, Digital Marketing will define and execute the enterprise digital strategy, translate complex business offerings into clear, buyer-centric digital experiences, and align digital programs to demand generation, sales enablement, customer engagement objectives, ultimately driving measurable pipeline and revenue impact.

This is a build, scale, transform and create role critical to driving GXO’s growth agenda.

Position is hybrid and based out of our GXO office in Charlotte NC, Greenwich CT, Fort Lauderdale FL, or Irving TX.

 

What you'll do on a typical day:

Digital Strategy

  • Defining and executing the enterprise digital marketing strategy across owned, earned, and paid channels
  • Owning the digital channel mix, campaign orchestration, and always-on demand programs aligned to customer and decision stages
  • Optimizing the end-to-end digital customer journey to maximize engagement, conversion, and pipeline contribution (Marketing Sourced, Marketing Influenced, ROMI and ROAS)

Search & Paid Media – Paid/SEO/AEO/GEO

  • Leading SEM/paid search and paid media (paid social, display) strategy to drive qualified traffic, visibility, and lead capture across priority verticals
  • Owning organic search (SEO) and emerging Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) to maximize discoverability across search and AI-driven engines
  • Managing budget, bid, keyword, and channel optimization to maximize efficiency and return on ad spend (ROAS)
  • Managing agency and media partner relationships, holding partners accountable to performance, quality, and ROI

Account-Based Marketing (ABM)

  • Defining and owning the enterprise ABM strategy, target account selection, and tiering in partnership with Sales and Account Management.
  • Building 1:1, 1:few, and 1:many ABM programs that engage priority accounts with personalized, multi-channel digital experiences.
  • Leading key ABM initiatives (including paid media, social, email nurture, targeted account plays) and expanding into new formats and emerging channels (video, personalization, AI-enabled targeting)
  • Aligning ABM plays with Sales to accelerate engagement, pipeline, and revenue across priority accounts

Marketing Operations, Technology & Automation

  • Owning the MarTech stack (marketing automation, analytics and other platforms) and ensuring integration with Salesforce and the broader commercial technology ecosystem.
  • Building and standardizing marketing operations processes, campaign workflows, and project management disciplines across the marketing organization.
  • Building lead scoring, nurture, and lifecycle automation to accelerate lead-to-revenue velocity
  • Ensuring data governance, privacy compliance, and a single view of digital engagement across GXO.

Change Leadership & Team Management

  • Define and design the new digital marketing operating model, roles & responsibilities, digital framework and governance charter
  • Establish the digital campaign lifecycle process (plan -> build -> activate -> optimize)
  • Drive adoption of new digital processes, martech, and ways of working through change management and stakeholder engagement
  • Build and lead the team responsible for Marketing Operations, Digital Campaigns, Analytics, and Project Management, setting the standard for GXO

Analytics, Measurement & Innovation

  • Owning marketing analytics and reporting – tracking traffic, engagement, conversion, pipeline (influenced/sourced), ABM account engagement, and ROMI
  • Optimizing digital and ABM programs based on data and testing (A/B, multivariate), leading an insight-to-action approach
  • Testing new technologies, AI, and personalization to enhance scalability and future readiness

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Bachelors Degree Required – Marketing, Digital, or related field; MBA or Post Graduate Degree very nice to have. Digital Marketing/ABM/Search & Paid Media Certifications (e.g., Google Analytics/Ads, Google/Microsoft Search Ads, HubSpot/Marketo, 6sense/Demandbase) nice to have.
  • 10-15 years in a Fortune 500 company B2B Required; deep digital marketing, ABM, and demand generation experience required;
  • Proven experience leading Search & Paid Media – paid search (SEM), paid media (paid social, display, programmatic), organic search (SEO), and emerging AEO/GEO – with accountability for budget and return on ad spend (ROAS) required.
  • Demonstrated experience selecting and managing search and media agencies/partners, holding them accountable to performance, quality, and ROI, highly desired.
  • Deep knowledge in marketing automation, ABM platforms, website/SEO/SEM/AEO/GEO, paid media, and analytics platforms highly desired.
  • Logistics and 3PL industry is a plus or vertical adjacent required.
  • Knowledge of Sales and Marketing tools including (Salesforce.com, Marketing Automation, ABM, Search/Ad platforms, Web Analytics, and Project Management) required.
  • 3PL Logistics, Warehouse Automation, WMS and appetite for AI; Mastery of Digital Marketing, Search & Paid Media, ABM, and Marketing Technology is a must
  • Travel 10%-20% inclusive of global travel
