Location: May be located in any Elevance Health PulsePoint office preferably in Indianapolis, IN, Atlanta, GA, Mason, OH, Richmond, VA, Norfolk, VA or Woodland Hills, CA.

This role requires associates to be in-office at least 3days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered. Summary

Responsible for leading AI strategic initiatives in the AI Data Science sector specifically, they will provide strategic leadership for the development, deployment, and governance of AI and advanced analytics solutions that improve healthcare outcomes, member and provider experiences, and business performance. The role leads teams of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and analytics professionals to optimize the value of artificial intelligence across the enterprise, identify high-impact opportunities, develop scalable AI models, and translate data-driven insights into measurable business value.

Team Scope

4+ direct reports / ~50 total FTE's

Position Responsibilities

  • Deploy AI models to production, and when required, integrating with organizations core systems including but not limited to: commercial claims, membership, provider, and product systems.

  • Accountable for data acquisition and infrastructure setup for exploratory data analysis to determine experiments for modeling and follow up experiments.

  • Accountable for ensuring AI experiments/models align with enterprise value priorities and are deployable.

  • Engage with business and technical executives and other leaders/SMEs to socialize AI, model integrations, and/or model deployments.

  • Fiscal responsibility for IT budgets.

  • Obtains resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things accomplished.

  • Provides leadership in motivating teams to accomplish AI goals and objectives.

  • Direct interdisciplinary AI teams to develop value aligned models and ensure alignment with organizational metrics.

  • Implements the policies, practices, and procedures of the company and Information Technology organization.

  • Coordinates project management across department & divisional line.

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports

Position Requirements

Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 15 years of IT leadership experience, with 8 years' experience in large enterprises leading multiple delivery teams, large code bases, high transactional based systems, prefer payer commercial systems experience in claims, product, provider, and/or membership required; large program leader experience ($100M+) including but not limited to business case development through final implementation; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

  • PhD education strongly preferred

  • Proven experience delivering in complex, matrixed environments, preferably in healthcare, financial services or other highly regulated environments

  • Blended experience delivering results in large corporate environments, as well as fast-growing start-up organizations

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $206,000 to $370,800
