The Role:
We're seeking a strategic and analytical leader to build and scale our Competitive Intelligence (CI) function. This role is ideal for someone passionate about market dynamics, competitive strategy, and cross-functional collaboration. You'll be at the forefront of shaping how JD Power understands and responds to competitive forces across industries.
The Impact You Will Have in This Role:
As the VP, Competitive Intelligence, you will play a pivotal role in informing JD Power's strategic direction. Your insights will directly influence our growth strategy, product development, marketing positioning, and sales enablement. By embedding competitive intelligence into core business processes, you'll help sharpen our market edge and accelerate innovation.
What You'll Be Doing in This Role:
  • Build and lead a company-wide Competitive Intelligence (CI) function and help sharpen our competitive focus across the enterprise

  • Develop a network of external sources and internal experts to source intelligence

  • Analyze market trends, competitive activities, and emerging competition; distill this analysis into key insights to inform JD Power's growth strategy, go-to-market activities, and product plans

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams to identify competitive challenges and opportunities. Partner with Marketing to validate JD Power claims and counter competitor messaging

  • Create and maintain a competitive scorecard to track progress against strategic goals

  • Partner with RevOps to embed CI into sales processes and tools, including win/loss and customer satisfaction insights

  • Disseminate insights across the organization and embed CI into training and enablement programs

  • Manage third-party research vendors to fill intelligence gaps

  • Identify and profile potential M&A and partnership targets aligned with growth strategy

Qualifications of this Role:
  • 10+ years in market and competitive intelligence roles within B2B-focused organizations

  • Experience in the automotive industry preferred

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills

  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate across business units

  • Experience building CI functions from the ground up is a plus

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in fast-paced environments

This position has a starting salary range of USD$220,000 - 240,000 per year. This is the range we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for the role at the time of posting. An employee's pay within the range is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, education, qualifications, experience, performance, business or organizational needs, and geographic location.
