Job Description:

The Vice President, Advanced Planning is a client-facing role that serves as a financial planning and estate planning subject matter authority for Fidelity's high net worth clients and their advisors. The Advanced Planner leads a comprehensive financial and estate planning engagement leveraging various financial planning tools such as eMoney. In addition, the role is supported by an Advanced Planning Analyst, and together as a team will support advanced planning client engagements throughout a geographic region. We primarily use video technology to function remotely in addition to meeting clients and advisors in investor centers across the region. We also collaborate within the Advanced Planning team both virtually and in-person to maintain and increase our collective impact on the clients we serve. Travel is typically expected between 5% and 20% of the time, depending on physical proximity to regional sites and investor centers. The role is remote but does requires residing within commutingdistance to an Investor Center or Regional Center in the state of Illinois.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree with any of the following designations preferred: CPA, JD, M.T., LLM in taxation, CFA or CFP
  • 13-15+ years overall work experience with 7+ years of trusts and estate planning, income tax planning or succession planning work experience within a public accounting, law practice, or wealth management industry environment
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 obtained within 90-days of employment
  • Retirement, financial, investment, and insurance planning (required)
  • Estate Planning, family wealth transfer planning, wills/trusts, income taxation, and trust and estate taxation knowledge (required)
  • Ability to create and review financial plans using tools such as eMoney
  • Experienced in working with business owners, start-ups/Pre IPO companies a plus
  • Works independently and able to lead an assigned territory to drive High Net Worth client engagements
  • Effectively coaches, develops, and applies junior team members
  • Thrives in a team environment to provide an exceptional client planning experience
  • Communicates complex subjects clearly and effectively
  • Emotional intelligence to successfully bond with and communicate with clients and their advisors

The Team

We are part of the Advanced Planning Leadership Development team collaborating with Fidelity's advisors and their high-net-worth clients to provide a comprehensive financial planning experience that is tailored to each client's unique financial goals and family dynamics

The base salary range for this position is $118,000-226,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
