Job description

My Pet's Veterinary Center is an AAHA accredited animal hospital located in Hainesport, New Jersey. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team! We offer a generous employee discount, flexible schedule and a great work-life balance (NO overnights and NO Sundays!)

Salary: $18-$22 based on experience

Responsibilies:

At My Pet's Veterinary Center, Veterinary Technicians utilize their skills by collecting blood and urine samples and running diagnostic tests, placing catheters, monitoring anesthetic procedures, calculating drug dosages and more! The Veterinary Technician assists in exam rooms by taking patients' history, vital signs and weight, preparing vaccines, providing client education, and assisting with animal restraint. Veterinary Technicians may also see their own appointments for procedures such as suture removal, nail trims, vaccine administration when a doctor exam is not required, long-term medication monitoring testing, surgery admission and discharge of patients. Veterinary Technicians directly impact doctors' productivity, client service and patient care.

Qualifications:

        Minimum 2 years experience in a veterinary practice or recent Veterinary Technology graduates

         Experience in proper animal handling and restraint

         Knowledge of small animal vaccinations, medications and preventatives

         Basic veterinary medical knowledge, including products and services

      Previous experience in veterinary anesthesia and dentistry strongly preferred

         Familiar with the use of policies, reports, and form completion

         Excellent telephone skills

         Excellent oral and written communication skills

         Interpersonal skills including working in a team environment

         Active listening, critical thinking, complex problem solving, time management, judgment and decision making skills

         High school diploma (or equivalent)

         Valid Driver's License

Anticipated schedule:

         Flexible, part time

         Rotating Saturday

         5 hour shift; 8 hour shift; 12 hour shift
