About Chronos

At Chronos, we provide remote veterinary support services to animal hospitals across the country. Our mission is to deliver exceptional client communication while helping veterinary teams improve efficiency, patient care, and the overall client experience.

We're looking for an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our growing Remote Triage Team. In this role, you'll use your clinical knowledge to triage incoming chats and phone calls, helping pet owners determine the appropriate next steps while supporting veterinary hospitals during regular business hours, after hours, weekends, amp; holidays.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys client communication, critical thinking, and working in a fast-paced remote environment while continuing to utilize their veterinary technician skills.

Position Description

As a Remote Licensed Veterinary Technician (Triage amp; On-Call), you will provide remote triage support for veterinary hospitals by responding to incoming chats and phone calls from pet owners seeking medical guidance. You'll assess patient concerns, provide appropriate recommendations based on hospital protocols, and help determine when veterinary care is needed.

This is a part-time, on-call position with hours that fluctuate based on hospital demand, vacations, call-outs, and coverage needs. Coverage opportunities are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Overnight availability is not required, but candidates who are available for overnight shifts are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage incoming client phone calls and online chat conversations using approved veterinary protocols.
  • Assess patient concerns and provide appropriate recommendations based on hospital guidelines.
  • Determine urgency of patient needs and direct clients to the appropriate level of care.
  • Document all client interactions accurately within each hospital's practice management software (PIMS).
  • Navigate multiple veterinary practice management systems.
  • Provide remote on-call coverage during evenings, weekends, holidays, vacations, and unexpected staffing shortages.
  • Collaborate with veterinary hospitals to ensure continuity of patient care and excellent client service.
  • Maintain professionalism, empathy, and clear communication during urgent or emotional client interactions.
Qualifications
  • Active LVT, CVT, or RVT license required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a general practice veterinary hospital.
  • Previous emergency, urgent care, or veterinary triage experience is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience using Otto is highly preferred.
  • Experience working within multiple veterinary practice management systems (PIMS) is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and client education abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient in a fast-paced remote environment.
  • Comfortable working independently while managing multiple conversations simultaneously.
Schedule
  • Part-time, remote position.
  • Hours fluctuate based on business needs and hospital coverage requests.
  • Coverage opportunities available 24/7.
  • Overnight availability is not required, but candidates willing to work overnight shifts are highly preferred.
  • Weekend and holiday availability is a plus.
