Job Description
As a Shipping Team Manager at Avery Dennison, you will lead efforts to ensure customer satisfaction while achieving business objectives regarding Safety, Employee Engagement, Quality, Productivity, Process Improvement and Cost-effectiveness within your assigned shift and department. This position is for 3rd Shift, 10p-6a, Sunday Night - Friday Morning.
Key Responsibilities:
This is an on-site position located in Greenfield, IN.
Safety Leadership: Promote safety as the most important value in the organization by actively enforcing all Environmental, Health and Safety policies/procedures, ensuring participation of team members in required safety training, and leading/participating in investigations and implementation of corrective action plans for all safety incidents.
Shift Leadership & Goal Execution: Provide leadership for the shift by creating a motivating environment for team members to meet and exceed facility goals for safety, service, quality, productivity, cost, and inventory control targets, while recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
Operations & Process Improvement: Initiate, implement, and support effective operational improvements to promote safety, increase employee engagement, improve quality, minimize scrap, and increase shift productivity.
Manufacturing Excellence: Ensure execution of standard operating procedures, standard work, quality standards, cycle counts, and safety/housekeeping audits, while engaging in technical problem solving, troubleshooting, and projects focused on optimizing manufacturing processes and capabilities.
Employee Development & Continuous Improvement: Oversee daily activities of team members including coaching, counseling, performance reviews, and meaningful feedback, while collaborating with support teams and leading, facilitating, or participating in Enterprise Lean Sigma (ELS) continuous improvement activities and Kaizen events.
